TW: Mentions of sexual harassment and abuse

At the Guild of Students, we have launched our We Love Consent campaign; saying YES to consent and NO to harassment. The campaign aims to educate our student community on what consent is and isn’t, demonstrate our zero tolerance of sexual harassment, and empower students to be supportive, active bystanders.

Why this matters

Findings from the 2025 OfS sexual misconduct survey show that 26% of our students have experienced unwanted sexual behaviour (44.9% of females, 7.9% of males). Of these, 60.5% occurred in a university setting or involved someone connected to the University. In response, the Guild is committed to creating change; supporting students to challenge harmful behaviours and look out for one another. Sexual harassment has no place on our campus.

What’s happening next

The campaign includes a dedicated webpage and in-person workshops covering consent, healthy relationships, bystander intervention, and signposts to support for issues such as sexual harassment and problematic porn use.

We’ve also recruited student Consent Ambassadors to champion the campaign, offering peer support and advocacy. Campaign materials will be visible across the Guild and campus to reinforce our zero-tolerance stance.

Our workshops

At the heart of We Love Consent are our peer-led workshops, delivered by trained Consent Ambassadors. These sessions complement the University’s online Consent Matters course and provide an interactive space to explore:

  • What consent is and isn’t

  • Healthy relationships and real-life scenarios

  • Recognising sexual harassment and its impact

  • Challenging unacceptable behaviours

  • Looking out for others through bystander intervention
