Recruiting Volunteers

Volunteering, within the Job Skills and Volunteering Department in the Guild of Students has a variety of opportunities designed to take you directly to the student at The University of Birmingham. Throughout the year we hold a number of events where you can meet the students and advertise your organisation to the students.

If you are a volunteer group looking to recruit volunteers then there is support available here

Promoting your Opportunities

If you would like to work with the Guild of Students to get University of Birmingham students volunteering you can:

Attend one of our fairs:

We run two fairs annually with a number of organisations and between 400-1000 students attending. Some of the events are run in collaboration with our Job service to promote part-time, summer work and voluntary opportunities. It is a fantastic chance to meet students face-to-face to advertise your volunteering opportunities.

To book onto our fairs, please contact volunteering@guild.bham.ac.uk

Advertise opportunities online:

Our basic promotion service is free! We promote volunteer opportunities on our website, vacancy boards in the Guild (the Student’s Union) and also through our social media pages. You can advertise your opportunities to thousands of students and have them apply directly to you.

We operate as a free service on the basis that we collect statistics about how many students we are able to find opportunities for and also gather your feedback on the service we provide. We will contact you monthly to see how your recruitment has gone and how we can support you further!

We will only advertise roles that comply with our Code of Practice and Guild of Student policies. However, we do reserve the right to refuse opportunities that we do not deem acceptable.

Contact volunteering@guild.bham.ac.uk for more information.

Advertise through one of our other streams

To find out more about other ways you can advertise your opportunities with us email volunteering@guild.bham.ac.uk to see our marketing pack.

Work in collaboration:

We are always looking for new community groups and organisations to work with on our one-off and micro volunteering opportunities. If you are in need of some help or are able to offer any opportunities for our students please contact volunteering@guild.bham.ac.uk for more information.
