    Ideas

Joe's bar events can be loud presenting difficulties in accessing or enjoying the venue especially among disabled people with sensory issues, noise sensitivity, and hearing impairments. Recently a quiz night exceeded 84.8dB when sat the rear of the venue. There is limited indoor dining space to accommodate those that do not want to eat or socialise in this type of environment. Additionally, outdoor spaces are unsuitable in winter and with the installation of the speaker present the same issue for summer. Mermaid Bar is an underused dining space that could have numbered tables like Joe's. This could be opened during key noisy events like Bingo and Quiz night to provide alternative seating away from the noise and encourage greater accessibility in accessing Joe's Bar.

    Policy

Open the Mermaid Bar during scheduled Joe's events as an alternative quieter seating area with numbered tables.
