Pole Fitness

Pole fitness is a dynamic and challenging sport which allows you to improve your fitness, strength and flexibility in a safe and welcoming environment. Whether you’re a beginner or have previous experience, anyone can join the Pole Fitness society at any time! Membership is £10 and gives you a number of perks, so purchase via the Guild website. Instructed Pole Fitness classes Qualified instructors (Kerrey, Kaya and Brooke) will teach you pole fitness moves safely and at your own pace. Non-instructed practice sessions Practice and perfect your moves and routines uninstructed.

Heels and floorwork Led by Shona, bring your sass and learn dance routines incorporating flow and floorwork, heels not compulsory!

Stretch and flexibility Led by Jade and Emily, improve your flexibility using various stretching techniques and equipment.

Core strength Improve your core strength to help with pole moves, led by Mel.

Classes: Discounted classes at both university and Adage pole studio

Competition and performances: If you have a flare for dance and performance, you can compete for us or perform in our termly showcases. Contact Emily for details and view our previous performances on our Youtube channel!

Socials: Get to know your pole family with weekly sports night socials and a sports tour! We will also run sober socials, contact Ruth and Jasmine for details.

Kit: Buy official UoB Pole Fitness kit for 2018-2019, contact Harri for details.


Wear shorts and have bare arms to pole classes to provide grip. For heels and floorwork classes cover your legs, knee pads are advised. Do not moisturise or fake tan 24 hours before a class as this makes the poles slippy. Do not be late to class as it is essential you warm up beforehand. 24 hour cancellation policy – if you cancel your class less than 24 hours beforehand you will not be allowed to sign up the following week. Challenge yourself and have fun!
