I’m Abhijeet your Sports Officer at the Guild, and I’d like to update you about what I’ve been working on this term.

This term so far
It’s been a really positive and busy term across sport, and it’s been great to see so many of you getting involved. Whether that’s through clubs, Sports Nights, or just trying something new.
A big focus for me has been making sport more accessible and inclusive, so that everyone feels welcome to take part, no matter their experience level.
Getting involved
We’ve seen great engagement at social sessions and events, which shows how important sport is - not just for fitness, but for building community and meeting new people.
We’re also looking at ways to make it easier for students to find and access opportunities, so more people can get involved in a way that suits them.
What’s coming up
There’s plenty to look forward to, including Sports Ball, where we’ll be celebrating all the amazing achievements across clubs this year.
We’ll also be partnering with Warwickshire Cricket Club at Edgbaston for the EdgBLASTon event later in term, a great way to get involved and enjoy something different.
Looking ahead
As we head into the final part of the year, the focus is on continuing to grow participation and making sure sport is something everyone can enjoy. Coming up in June, I'll be hosting some fun sports activities for students to get involved in.
On Monday 8 June there will be an informal Rounders Game at the Vale where students can turn up and have a go. On Tuesday 9 June, we'll be running a Badminton tournament at Sports and Fitness - make sure to buy your ticket to join in.
Whether you’re already involved or thinking about joining in, I’d really encourage you to try it out, there’s something for everyone.
