At the Guild, we’re committed to creating a safer and more supportive environment for students living in Selly Oak. Building on our ongoing work to enhance student life, we’ve partnered with local leaders to address key community safety concerns that affect University of Birmingham students.
As part of this effort, we’re excited to invite you to a special event with Al Carns, Member of Parliament for Birmingham Selly Oak. This is a unique opportunity to connect directly with your MP, share your experiences, and discuss how we can work together to improve safety in the Selly Oak area.

Pre-Meet:
Join us for an informal session to learn how you can get involved and prepare for the main discussion.
When: Friday 3rd October 2pm-3pm
Where: Mandela Room, Guild building
Main Event with Al Carns:
Come and meet your MP in person, raise your concerns, and help shape initiatives to make Selly Oak a safer community for students.
When: Friday 17th October 11:30am-1pm
Where: Rosa Parks Room, Guild Building
