Join us for the Astronomical Society's thirdguided tour of the University of Birmingham's own Wast Hill's Observatory!
This University-owned observatory is host to an impressive 0.5-meter-diameter telescope used for real research and scientific data gathering, such as for the Year 3 Observational Laboratory Projects for Astrophysicists. On this tour, you will get a chance to tour the telescope and see its operation and apparatus. If the weather permits, we also hope to be able to do some observing with the observatory telescope as well.
This event is members only and only has 20 spaces available. Tickets will cost £2 to cover the (subsidised) transport costs to and from the University Observatory. We will be meeting outside the Barber Institute of Fine Arts at 19:00 on Tuesday, 24th February, to order Ubers to the Observatory and then returning from the Observatory to the Barber Institute at around 21:00.
