This event will be a competition involving other university snowsports societies where we will have a ski racing competition, snowboard racing competition, ski freestyle competition and snowboard freestyle competition.
This event will also involve two stages for DJs to play music, one from the top of the slope and one in the car park.
The ski centre will be setting up an alcohol bar which will have no affiliation to brumski.
The event will run from 11am until 9pm for skiing. everyone must cease skiing activities around 9:30 but do not need to leave the slope until 12 midnight. The car park with food trucks and a DJ may remain until 2am but this is under discussion, we may close earlier.
The primary costs associated for Brumski are the slope hire, coach to transport our competitors and spectators there, paying officials, and prizes for the winners.
Rental equipment including skis, snowboards, boots for both, poles, helmets and safety equipment is included in the slope hire cost.
We are taking no role or responsibility in other teams' transport or accommodation should they stay overnight.
The racing will consist of;
skiing: Duals teams placed into groups, racing each other where the top 2 from each group of 5 will qualify, followed by a knockout round, and then some fun races at the end (I.E. Northern Unis vs Southern Unis). There will be no individual racing and teams will be mixed gender (enforced).
snowboarding: Snowboard racing will be individuals, and each participant will have 4 races, followed by a knockout stage. This will be split gender.
The freestyle will consist of:
Slopestyle: An open qualifier 'rail jam' for approx. 2 hours where participants will take turns skiing the course and finalists will be selected by a judge. Finalists will get two scored runs each, where highest score wins. This will be split by gender and skiers/boarders.
Big air: An open jam of approx. 2 hours
