The Trauma and Orthopaedics Society at the University of Birmingham is a dynamic and student-led group dedicated to promoting interest, education, and career development in the field of trauma and orthopaedic surgery. Whether you're an aspiring surgeon or simply curious about the specialty, the society offers something for everyone—from our very popular teaching series to our annual conferences, there is always something going on!
Throughout the year, we run teaching sessions which are tailored to the teaching programme here at the University of Birmingham. This has had great feedback from our current pre-clinical students, and we look forward to expanding it this year. We also collaborate with professionals in the field; our lecture series focuses on a variety of subspecialties within T&O and provides valuable learning! This year, we are hoping to re-introduce our OSCE practice sessions to help our fellow medical students acheive the best grades in their exams!
Our society is committed to inclusivity and mentorship, helping medical students from all years to understand the pathways into surgery and how to stand out in an increasingly competitive field!
Whether you're looking to refine your practical skills, connect with like-minded peers or gain insights into the world of T&O, joining our society is a fantastic step towards achieving your goals. Everyone is welcome, no prior experience is needed, and our membership is entirely free!
We look forward to meeting you!
