Medsoc Men’s Football

Welcome to UBSMFC, the undisputed best Med School Football club in the country (in 2023) Whether you are a keen footballer, occasional 5-asider, or just love talking about the beautiful game, this is the club for you! 

UBSMFC has 4 11-aside teams: the 1s are in the Premier Division of the Birmingham AFA whilst the 2s compete in Division 4. The 3s compete against other medical schools and the 4s against other UOB societies. This means whatever your ability, you can play 11 aside football at a range of standards. On top of this, we have a fresher’s 6-a-side team competing in campus league which is a great way to get to know more of your year group early on!

We also run an intra-club 7-aside Tuesday night league, with each year group having a team, allowing club members to claim the ultimate bragging rights! Training involving all club members also takes place every Thursday. 

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE GOOD AT FOOTBALL TO JOIN US

We also do lots of socials throughout the year and a yearly tour abroad (previous destinations include Malta, Barcelona, Dusseldorf and Krakow). 

The 1s and 2s also compete in National Association of Medical Schools football (the FA cup of medics football). The 1s won the prestigious double in 2023, meaning you will be joining the best of the best.
