Starbucks, which has faced a worldwide boycott since the genocide in Gaza began 16 months ago, is being served in the Guild of Students at Joe’s Bar. On the 18th of October 2023, the US-based ‘Starbucks Workers United’ union was sued by Starbucks for showing solidarity with Palestine. The lawsuit lasted until February 2025, in which time frame over 45,000 Palestinians have been brutally killed by Israel.
We are calling for the Guild of Students to stop sales of Starbucks products and terminate any contracts or partnerships with the company. Instead, they should explore alternative coffee suppliers that better promote local coffee businesses and student engagement.
