Best Event

This award recognises a group of students who have successfully put on an event that deserves recognition and celebration.

Nominees should focus on how they were creative and resourceful in planning and delivering their event for maximum impact on attendees.

Best Campaign

This award recognises an individual or group of students who have led a campaign that’s positively impacted on students, the University or wider society.

Nominees should focus on the impact their campaign had, and how they engaged other students throughout.

Outstanding Volunteering Group

This award recognises both Community Volunteering and Campaigning and Fundraising Groups.

Nominees can share how the group impacts its users, members and other parties and how the group recognises the value of its volunteers.

Outstanding Student Representative

This award recognises a student representative that has had a positive impact on the students they represent.

Nominees should focus on how the student representative gathered feedback and how they acted on it to create positive change for their fellow students.

Outstanding Student Community Impact

This award recognises the individuals or groups that have positively impacted on their student community.

Nominees should focus on how students have engaged with their projects.

Outstanding Local Impact

This award recognises an individual or group who has made a positive impact on the Birmingham community.

Nominees can share how it helped create a positive image of students and how resources available have been best utilised.

Outstanding Global Impact

This award recognises an individual or group who have made an impact on a global scale.

Nominees should focus on how their efforts made a significant impact on a global level, such as fundraising, raising awareness or bringing communities together.

Outstanding Individual Contribution

This award recognises an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the Guild.

Nominees should focus on what the individual has been involved in and how have they positively benefited others.

Outstanding Student Staff

This award recognises Guild Student Staff who have gone above and beyond the call of duty.

Nominees should focus on how the staff member has impacted the Guild and how they have made a difference.

Outstanding New Group

Has your group started since February 2017 and already achieved a lot that you want to celebrate, such as number or range of events, number of people involved or any other achievement?

It takes time to get fully up and running, but this award celebrates groups that have had a great start; length of time since your group was approved will be taken into account.

Outstanding Association

This award is for representation and liberation associations to show what they’ve done for their members and the wider student body.

Nominees can discuss events and campaigns that they’ve done to meet their group’s objectives.

Most Improved Student Group

Do you think your committee have made changes to the way your group is organised and offered better or more opportunities for your members than before?

This award is for groups that can describe what they’ve done differently to previous years, and the effect it’s had on the committee and members.

Ian King Award for Outstanding Society

This award is for societies that want to celebrate successes over the last year – discussing events, on-going activity and opportunities provided for members.

Nominees can give a flavour of what makes the group so good and what the committee have done to accomplish the group’s aims.
