Outstanding Event or Campaign

This award recognises a group of students who have successfully put on an activity – such as an event or a campaign that deserves to be celebrated.

Nominees should focus on how they were creative and resourceful in planning and delivering their activity for maximum impact on attendees.

Diversity and Inclusion Award

This award recognises an individual or group of students who have championed diversity and inclusion in every aspect of their activity.

Nominees should focus on the impact their project had on different audiences and how they engaged students throughout.

Outstanding Individual Contribution (Committee member)

This award recognises an individual who has made a positive contribution to running and developing their student group.

Nominees should focus on the impact of this individual going above and beyond in their contribution the committee and members.

The Impact Award

This award recognises an individual or group who has made a positive impact on the student, local or global community.

Nominees can share how it helped create a positive image of students and how resources available have been best utilised.

Outstanding Association

This award is for representation and liberation associations to show what they’ve done for their members and the wider student body.

Nominees can discuss events and campaigns that they’ve done to meet their group’s objectives.

Volunteering Group of the Year

This award recognises both Community Volunteering and Campaigning and Fundraising Groups.

Nominees can share how the group impacts its users, members and other parties and how the group recognises the value of its volunteers.

Outstanding New Group

Has your group started since January 2019 and already achieved a lot that deserves to be celebrated, such as a variety of events, outstanding fundraising or engagement?

It takes time to get fully up and running, but this award celebrates groups that have had a great start; length of time since your group was approved will be taken into account.

Outstanding Individual Contribution (Member)

Every year thousands of members join a student group and throw themselves head first into activity. This awards recognises the contribution of a member of a group who has had an extraordinary impact on their group.

Nominees should focus on the impact of this individual going above and beyond in their contribution to the group.

Ian King Award for Society of the Year

This award is for societies that want to celebrate big successes over the last year. It recognising societies that go above and beyond – whether though engaging events, promoting inclusive activity, championing sustainability or providing diverse opportunities for members.

Nominees should give a flavour of what makes their group so outstanding and what the committee have done to accomplish the group’s aims.
