Sign Language

The society is a sign language group which teaches students basic sign language. We run a British Sign Language (BSL) Level 1 course. The course is one year long, with evening classes taking place each week of term. Topic areas include: the alphabet, numbers, colours, the calendar, describing yourself and your family, jobs, directions and many more. Students can also choose to take exams required to achieve the Level 1 Award in BSL.

There are also various socials and fundraisers throughout the year that members can get involved in outside of class.

Membership is £5 - this allows members to attend BSL Social Club, where you can learn British Sign Langauge in a causal setting weekly, in addition to our other events.

LESSONS ARE NOW SOLD OUT; There is a separate BSL Level 1 Fee of £110 (2018 price).

[Until summer 2016, this group was known as 'Talking Hands']
