Boobs, boobs, boobs!

So October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and today is Wear It Pink Day – big shout out to anyone who’s getting involved! I just wanted to take today to remind everyone about their boobs (or breast bones because that happens too!)

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. Breast cancer starts when cells in the breast begin to divide and grow in an abnormal way. It’s caused by a combination of lots of different factors, many of which are beyond our control.

It’s most commonly found in women over 40 but ANYONE can get it and it’s worth always keeping an eye on.

Here are some things to keep your eyes peeled for…

Image shows warning signs of breast cancer: 1. Look for nipple discharge. 2 Feel for lumps and thickening 3. Look for changes in skin texture e.g. puckering and dimpling. 4. Look for nipple inversion and changes in direction. 5. Look for swelling in your armpit or around collar bone. 6 Feel constant pain in your breast or armpit. 7 Look for a change in size and shape. 8 look for a rash or crusting of the nipple or surrounding area

If you do think anything is at all unusual FOR YOU then get it checked out with your GP. It will take 10 minutes and then you can rest easy that all is okay!
